Coldplay Sewing Their Oats

Who knew that Coldplay likes to sew their own clothes? Really? Really.

Apparently, the band has (is) a little sewing factory. It's what they do. Chris Martin told the Daily Mirror so. Get it? So. Sew. So.

You know the old saying: A band who sews together...stays together.

According to Chris Martin, it keeps them a tight-knit. He said, "Making clothes together in our studio makes us feel complete. We probably sound like a group of grannies in a knitting circle but it's the truth and it gives us some control over our visual identity."

When most rock bands head back to their hotel rooms with their entourage and groupies, pillaging through the mini bars looking to score some booze and whatever else they can get their hands on, Coldplay is thinking about fabric and thread.

"We see if they have a sewing kit in the amenities draw in case we feel inspired," says Chris.

It gives them unity. "When you are a big band and everyone is taking shots at you, the more things you can do together the better. And if you're wearing uniforms made by your own hands it helps achieve that."

Someone should have given Aerosmith a needle and thread.

Viva la Singer! No pun intended.

Digg!
